New K7T Pro

I emailed MSI regarding the new K7T Pro mobo. Here;s the reply:

Hi,

Yes, the new revision will not only focus on the multiplier adjustment but on supporting faster processors, namely 1.2GHz, plus a bigger "keep-out" zone for bigger CPU fan and heatsink.

The sample boards will actually be ready in just a few days, and please calculate another two to three weeks for you to be able to see it on the shelves.

Thanks,

Well, I've found my motherboard for the Athlon system I'm building.

i am calling them today to see if you can flash the original version to the new bios with mutiplier. this sucks that they come out with new board instead of just providing new bios for us that bought the original board. that's why i bought their board, i heard they was going to have multiplier in bios update. will let you know what they say

Cool.

I heard it was a voltage issue and not just a simple bios update. Hmm.. it would be cool to see what I can get out of my Duron 650. If I mess it up I'm only out 55 bucks or so

Bump, being Members in other forums have been asking about when the new MSI K7T PRO2 will be out.

🙂

hey john, I am the other member here, and I wondering what's the offical site?
And when will it be coming out too?
ALSO any knowledge on the price?

MSI says the board will be out on the shelves in 2-3 weeks, and I expect it to be around $120, since it doesn't seem to be much more costly to manufacture than the original K7T Pro. The current K7T Pro is $108 at a retailer on Pricewatch.

Any real difference found yet? Hmm.. my friend hates overclocking so maybe I'll trade him my regular k7t for a new one.

Hello all, I am too interested in this board but what turned me off was that it was not going to provide ATA-100 support. I mean I like the idea of having my hard drives on a seperate controller than my cd/dvd/cdrw. I like stability rather than raw power or speed. my $.02

I'd rather have that Via use the 686B south-bridge which support ATA100. I had enough of ATA-controllers. Had problems with the Highpoint 366 controller and I also had problems with the Promise ATA100 controller! I'd rather not have those on a motherboard or at least as "optional".

But as soon as the K7T Pro2 is released, my Asus A7V is going to be on its way out! 😉 But it seems now that my computer instability was caused my Geforce2 MX card, so I hope that Nvidia will do something about their drivers soon.
