New job rocks, its like a massive sandbox for me to play in!

work at a local excavating company (Buckeye Excavating) and its just fun. guys are awesome. knew most of them before i worked there as my dad has previously worked there, but driving a front end loader is fun, making topsoil, loading trucks, driving around the water truck, driving their roller to flatten the dirt in the back, and watching a house get torn down is also fun.

i like it a lot, although the hours sorta suck, start at 6:30am, normally get home at around 7:10pm, but good money at $8 an hour, and 1.5 overtimeand pay through lunch.

although i get one hell of a farmers tan.

Sounds awesome. I recently switched jobs as well and I LOVE my new job. It's exactly what I've always wanted in a job. Pays less the the last but it's definately worth it because of the lack of stress I have.

this is just a summer job, but if i work hard enough ill prolly have it next summer and this winter maybe.

nah, the Cat's just dig up the sand and dump it in the places its supposed to go.

we have more Deere's though.

I would work for free if I got to use and learn how to use a front end loader, trencher, shovel, crane, or earth mover. Teach me how for a day, you get a couple of free days of work from me.

I only know how to drive electric reaches, OP's, pallet recieving eqipment, and forks up to 16 tons. I was a trainer for propane forks to 16,000 lbs and have always wanted to go bigger. One of the training stunts I used to do all the time for my classes was use a 8 ton fork to put away pallets in isles that were almost 5 feet closer together than the fork itself. I was also pretty good about picking up dimes from the floor with a fork; those were fun times. Won many a drink with that The only real construction equipment I have any experence with is a skid-steer (bobcat) that I hotwired and took for a joyride when I was a kid.
