Somerset Patriots fans here? Wow, it really is a small world. Gotta love Sparky Lyle. I took the family to a few games last year.
Actually, I've never been to a game there...I don't even live around here.
🙂 I was staying at the Hilton Garden Inn around the corner for a few months and saw the stadium and just thought it might be a good idea.
It actually is quite a nice stadium and you can get that "right in the action, close to the field" feeling that you would never get at a major league park, at least, not unless you paid A LOT more money. You're not seeing the same caliber of talent granted (although there are quite a few ex-major leaguers who seem to end up in this little independent league, i.e. Juan Gonzalez, Edgardo Alfonzo to name a few), but you really appreciate the skills it takes to play the game when you're that close. Everything just seems FASTER.
🙂 I get to a few Yankee games a year as well, but the Patriots are a very different but still enjoyable experience.
I'm guessing that you were at the Hilton for business? Mostly because as an ex-NYer, I can't imagine anyone actually wanting to be in NJ for pleasure.
