New iPods means good deals on the "old" ones

Also check the Apple site -- the educational (and maybe other sites) have the Nano refurbs. Worth a ponder. 2 GB black Nano for $99.

so what is the difference between the "old" 30gb ipod and the new one?

brighter screen and longer battery life, AFAIK

That's it, except supposedly it might not be a hardware diff... Some have said the new firmware makes all the difference.

I got a "new" Nano at the Apple store yesterday. They had all of the models in stock.

Black is actually pretty cool looking.

I highly doubt a respectable company like Apple would resort to anything racial. People like the dark black color, so some will pay more, like myself. I would rather the black macbook for a bit more money than the white one too. I'm sure a few feels the same way.

...it was a joke...

On that note it took them 5 generations to break away from the white. I sense some racial tension at apple no?

I tend to agree that the 5G Nano looked prettier, but it scratched SO easily and showed prints and the like way too much. The new brushed alum is still nice looking and far more resistant to these problems.

And who can argue about 8GB for the 4GB price? 😛

I might plan to get one. But I still think Apple has it schemes to make people buy there products with the minor "upgrades".

10 years later.

"hey check out my NEW IPOD. It has camera, phone, AND a 1TB storage space. To bad the battery life isnt long enough...only 10 days. I wish Ipod would make it longer."
and thats how the wheel continues to turn XD

Bastards didn't refresh the U2 iPod :|
Bought a 4G U2 because, well, U2 is awesome. Passed on the Photo U2 because all the Photos had a nasty bug with low impedance headphones, and I passed on the 5G U2 because it came out way too late in the 5G's lifespan. Now they go and update the 5G, save for the U2. Bastards...

So I have the Photo iPod, and I'm wondering if I should get the refurbished one, or a brand new one with the 60% brighter screen and better battery life? I'm just wondering if it's worth the extra $70?

If anybody has any comparison screens, like someone did with the DS and the DS lite, that would be awesome. Thanks!

It's called business.

Apple is hardly the only vendor to have such "schemes".
