Eug, know where I can find that ogg codec for itunes? 🙂
Ogg for QuickTime

I don't remember exactly how it's installed in Windows. It must be on that website somewhere.

Last time I tried it (long time ago - can't remember if it was my Mac or my PC) it worked, but it was less than desirable. 😛 I basically couldn't multitask while listening to ogg files because it would skip. (I haven't tested it lately though since I don't use ogg anyway.)

also what's the foo fighters free tune? that page wont load for me
The link only works if you have iTunes installed. It's a direct iTMS song link.

I am interested in buying an iPod mini. I have never been sure of the bit rate they were able to play in AAC anything higher than 128kbps. Now seeing as how they can decode loseless, I think they are able to do much higher then 128kbps. Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone knows an actual number? If not, are they able to decode 320kbps AAC and MP3? Hope the answer is yes so I won't be afraid to buy one anymore.

iTunes offers up to 320 kbps AAC and MP3 encoding, and the files work fine in the mini. I suspect the processor is the same as my iPod 3G (which also works fine with 320 kbps).

BTW, I think the average bit rate for AAC lossless is around 1000 kbps and the mini is supposed to play those fine. However, I would have guessed it takes less processing power to decode AAC lossless than lossy AAC, but who knows. Oh and the iPod plays non-compressed full 1.4 Mbps files too just fine. The only problem is battery power. The bigger the files, the more battery usage (to spin the disc).
