Wrong. So if you are a criminal the government is not supposed to know about your activities?
I'm not a criminal until the government proves otherwise. Until they have probable cause or a warrant, they need to stay the hell out of my business. Living within the borders of the US is not probable cause.

So how they can prove it if you want them out of your life? You're not making sense.

I'm particularly intrigued by a few rather conspicuous words int he first sentence:
A new iPhone App with the misleading name ‘PatriotApp’ attempts to draw on the power of the patriot movement, turning smartphone users into a gigantic snitch network.
This seems like a manufactured phrase. In fact, it's so conspicuously bizarre I'm going to go out on a limb and say that we will be seeing it (and derivative phrases) in the MSM with increasing frequency over the next couple years, along with some marketing campaigns which will pretend to piggy-back the fake movement that never was, thereby creating this anti-patriot movement out of thin air.

Its called probable cause. And if a judge thinks there is probable cause there are warrants issued. Funny concept in the days since the patriot act and the creation of the DHS mosnter.

Oh this will be sooooo useful in the wonderful USA, land of people who call 911 because of the following:

1. Got locked inside their car.
2. Because they were lonley.
3. Because.... they were out of those chicken mcnuggets!!!!!!

Oh god do I have to go on? You all get the point. It would take thousands of people to sort through all the junk.

Computer programs can be designed to sift through a large load of data, my friend. Oh well, I guess I'll have even less reason to hang out with people constantly on their phones.
