Intel are normally quick at updating their website with new drivers. This driver is still not on their site and there is no other mention of a finished 11.xxx version being released other than this thread.
Ideas anyone?
This version 11 driver is still not on the Intel website. Starting to look like a fake to me.
I don't think it's a fake, it shows WHQL certification in driver details. But I do think it's a WHQL Intel driver that was never released for good reason. They are probably working on moving straight to TRIM over RAID with 11.5.
Typically unless it's some obscure driver, such as a USB 3.0 chipset driver for a PCIE card that isn't given much care or updates by the manufacturer (Asus U3S6 comes to mind), I tend to only use WHQLs posted to the official sites. This time I was intrigued, but staying away from sites like driverstation is generally a good idea.
I've tried many drivers while fooling about with config testing but have never been burned yet by that site. As with anything as important as drivers though.. better safe than sorry for most uers. Especially for more mission critical rigs.
But I completely agree that it's generally safer to go with mobo and mfgr specific certified drivers as well. When something goes wrong with sata drivers?.. it can go very wrong since that's the code that lets the system drive get along with the rest of the hardware, OS, and power mgmt implementation/ACPI tabling between it all.
Define 'burned by that site'. I said they are real, they are just not on Intel's site for good reason.
.. which was why I mentioned that I've had good luck with them. Many good drivers on that site that have solved many real problems for many real users out there.but staying away from sites like driverstation is generally a good idea.
Well that depends we already know your F4's are blazing fast. However these drivers when released (11.5) will provide TRIM to SSD's in Raid. So not sure you want to put some dirty slow SSD in that heaven of I/O bliss you got there 🙂
as in.. "received bad or malicious firmware/drivers".
And actually you said.... which was why I mentioned that I've had good luck with them. Many good drivers on that site that have solved many real problems for many real users out there.
Only experienced users need apply.. and most config testing is not for the faint of heart. Backups are always best as well. 😉
