New Intel Processor, which one.....

Looking to see if I can boost my CPU up a bit for some of the newer games.

I have the GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 Ver 2.0 with the Intel Core 2 E6400 2.13GHz. Running all 4 memory slots with Crucial Ballistix 1GB DDR2 800 and a Gigabyte GeForce 7900GS.

What CPU would you recommend?

A Q6600 gives you the most bang for the buck right now. With the mobo and ram you have, you should be able to easily overclock it to 3 ghz, more with a better cooler, and outperform just about any dualie.

Take a look at the cpu test with HalfLife2 just posted:

Now consider that a $277 Q6600 with a mild OC can match the QX6850 on top of the list.
