New Intel CPU, called Prescot?

Anymore talk about which current i875/i865 mobos may be able to handle these??? I am going for an asus p4p800 since I have heard more rumors of such they may work fine with the prescotts...

As for the prescott...I am not sure what stepping Anandtech has on its p4 2.8ghz but I have heard from a reliable source the prescott is already on its 4th stepping. So maybe anandtech has a much earlier stepping and Intel has been hammering out the issues....

here is DFI's official answer on Prescott support:

"The microcode of the cpu should be only slightly changed, and the architecture it is built on should allow for all current Canterwood boards to support this cpu with a simple BIOS upgrade. Unfortunately Intel has not finalized the specs on this processer, and it is still undergoing changes as I write this to you. This means that it is supposed to work, and Intel has assured top-tier manufacturers that yes it will be compatible with current Canterwood/478 designs, it could change without prior notice."

"retaking the crown" implies that there was actually a point in time when AMD actually had it... Maybe in the days when AMD beat Intel to 1GHz with the Athlon vs PIII, but even then Intel was owning the market in sales. AMD is retaking nothing right now except regaining some ground in terms of performance.
