About 3 years and a month ago I meshed together a build that maximized OC (had an Athlon 3000 Venice core clocked from 1.8 to 2.7ghz, 2 GB OCZ memory, and a EVGA 512 MB 6600GT sitting on DFI LanParty Ultra-D). The machine served me well for a long while but lately its been chugging along with some of the recently released games. I think it's time for an upgrade.

For video card I purchased a MSI 8800GT 512MB card. CPU I'm considering this guy the A64 X2 5000. What's a good motherboard for this to sit on? Price range between $100-$175.

Thanks!

EDIT:

Okay, so I'll venture into Intel territory now. :) Here is what I have spec-ed so far:

Mobo: ASUS P5Q Deluxe
CPU: E8400 3.0Ghz
RAM: G.SKILL 2x 1Gb DDR2 800 PC2 6400
GPU: Will migrate over the 8800GT 512MB card from my current board
PSU: Will migrate over the Fortran 500w Blue Storm

Yay or nay?

Hmm... I think I will do that. Modified my first post to reflect some new hardware I'm looking at.

Other than that it looks good.

How does that differ from P5Q-E out of curiosity?

The E has a little better mobo chipset cooling, which is most likely not needed on a cool running 65nm chipset. It is only $10 more on Newegg though....and has free shipping as of today.

If you buy the Asus pro and E8400 together you get $20 off $319 , this setup will give you huge performance jump from where you are now.

So from what I can tell the only real difference between the 3 is that the Pro is sort of the cheaper and lower end, E features better chipset design and cooling, and the Deluxe has everything the E offers but is 16 phase versus 8 so better power management across the board?
