I just installed XP onto a new comp a friend built for me. I can't access the internet. I don't see LAN under network connections. All I see is the 1394 connection. When I try to create a new connection I'm told that the broadband connection should already be configured. Don't know what to do. Any ideas?

Do you see the NIC in Device Manager?
Perhaps the driver isn't installed [properly].

I'm using the MSI Neo4 from the geeks.com deal. Windows install went fine. Even tried reinstalling twice. Light goes on when the network cable is in. Havent tried any other type of network card because I have no other one.

If the motherboard is the one with the probelm, do I need to get a new mb or can I just get a nic card?

its under warranty, replace the mobo from geeks.com then. -why get a nic card if you were given a mobo where the onboard nic is bad? are the drivers def. showing the device is enabled and working properly, and you got the drivers from MSI's website (not the cd)? if yes, its the mobo, i'm sure tech support when you call them will agree.
