New INFO about Counter-Strike and Condition Zero.

Attended CPL.. listened to Valve and CS team talk about future.. I'll try to summarize what I remember..

Few weeks in the new HL patch... They are doing something 'new' to stop cheating.. They really didn't explain to us what it did.

Told us ALOT about the new Half-Life expansion...

There are no Suicide Belts (fake)

Motelev Cocktail things (like in max pain)

Poison Gas Grenade (T only, like smoke grenade but hurts you)

CT's can buy gas masks

new weapons, like a M60

there is going to be a 'rocket powered grenade'

Said stuff about environments are alot better. (you can shoot trees and leaves fall down)

Then something about over 108 skins/models combinations

If you ever played like Infiltration.. You can like change your face skin, then your 'class', then type like artic, urban, jungle.

It's going to be like some what how Starcraft Broodwars is.. It's not meant really to replace the old CS, both classic CS and the expansion will be available.

There is alot more i can't remember (didnt sleep for like 2 days =p) anyways i just wanted all the AT'ers know.

Yeah i am talking about Condition Zero..

He said either during the Christmas holidays or after is when the patch was released..

One guy in the audience was making fun of Valve saying "2 weeks real time, or valve time?"
Same Guy also said he was with Punkbuster and asked why they didn't accept their offer, but the Valve Guy (forgot his name) said like it wasn't up to him or something and to talk somewhere else...

Also they are going to implement like bullet velocity and stuff like that in like CS 2.. (not condition zero)

BTW.. CPL is the real deal.. on Public servers.. I usually have like 5 to 1 ratios.. (get accused of cheating.. etc)

At CPL....

I got like 1:5 ratios

People their have instant reaction/head shot aim.. no one is cheating also.. I was standing behind some of the top cs clans watching their screens.. They are amazing.. I feel like a COMPLETE newbie compared to them.

CPL was awesome BTW! I had a lot of fun.. It cost a bit to get into the BYOC but it is worth it.. Especially I was very lucky..

I won a PNY GeForce 3 Ti-500 (Thanks PNY!) It is in my machine right now..

Altec Lansing Head Set (Awesome, has a NICE microphone and much better quality then my old headphones.. (but not like senheisser quality) I like how you can adjust the volume and microphone on little remote on the long cord)

Misc stuff. Intel Mousepad, got a PNY Frisbee

I know what you mean. My clan was the champion of this one nationwide LAN league named Igames. AFter we won we were automatically entered into the CPL. We were whupped by [WEW]. It's funny, because i heard [WEW] was whupped by the other top CPL clan. Makes you feel, well, newbie-ish.
