So, I was thinking, why don't they make the season twice as long? No, not twice the amount of games, just stretch it out to twice as long.

Instead of 15-16 games a week, schedule for 7-8. In effect, one week is now two.

This will benefits players and fans alike. You can only watch so many games at once, that means more games watched, more trash talk. The players get to rest, therefore more quality games when they play.

What do you think? Sssnail for NFL commissioner? :awe:

Uh, it's tough enough waiting for the next Sunday, now you want us to wait for two?

Remember, fans even complain about waiting two weeks for the Superbowl.

Plus, how do you handle the by week? Now teams could be off 3-4 weeks? F That!

That could work, but people like seeing their team every weekend.

But that's just it, instead of an 8 months void, their teams are now relevance for 8 months. And, I'm sure people can find one or two interesting games other than their teams to watch, per week.

It's football almost all year round!

I'm thinking do away with the bye week in this new system. Yes, there may be some getting used to with seeing your team once every two weeks, but that gives you time to engage in some other teams that you may also be interested in.

The flip side of that is you don't have to wait 8 months for football.

In the entire recorded history of bad ideas, this one is right up there.

Here's my idea. Put together the all-incarcerated team and give them an NFL franchise. All the money earned by the team would go towards keeping the players in prison.

Team? They'd need their own league!

So, how many times have you seen them play the past, say, 8 months?

I'm conditioned to not seeing them now, there is no anticipation on my part for its the off season, but once the season starts, I want to see my boys every Sunday.

Hell, never mind bye weeks, I don't even like when they play Sunday night or Monday, I need to see them at 1 PM!

Right, that's because you're ”conditioned” to see them, but once you realize that you can actual watch football every week for 8 months, you'll see that I'm a genius.

You still need an "off" season so players can recuperate from the violence and pounding that NFL puts on one

That actually might work out for me. Football junkies will get to watch more individual games and Vikings fans like me will get to see them fail every other week instead of every week. Takes some of the sting out of it.

Nah, for me I'd rather have the band aid pulled off all at once.

Actually it appears they already have a team... it's called the "New England Patriots".
