New idea for an invention

Always room for improvement. This hit me a minute ago. I had to go potty and so I sat on the seat and pulled my pants down to my ankles. I let it dangle downwards while I went #2, and when I decided to pee I didn't make sure to tuck it down good. Anywhom, the stream shot right between the spacing between the toilet seat and the actual toilet and I had a small wet spot on the seat of my pants as a result.

On to my invention. This isn't the first time this has happened to me and I'm sure it has happened to others as well. My idea is to put a lip on the seat so when it is down it closes off that gap in the front so that there is no way any pee could accidentally make its' way out. Seems like an extremely easy thing to do, not sure why all toilets aren't made like this.

Because most people take measure to ensure they don't piss on themselves.

Are you sure you didn't pee up on yourself like the beginning of the 40 Year Old Virgin?

Edit: And how much space is there between your seat and the bowl? Just OOC.

Usually, yes. But you mean to tell me this has not ever happened to you? Or you didn't jiggle long enough and got a couple drops down your leg? We try to avoid accidents, but they do happen. This just seems like a simple fix to prevent an embarrassing accident.

Why not use this?

Not much, maybe half an inch? It doesn't sit flush on the bowl though. It is raised up by little supports.

I feel like making a lip would only collect liquids if they got on there. I think the lip would be a good idea, but on the inner portion, the porcelain would have to be sloped in towards the water. That way if anything does collect, it would simply go back into the toilet water.
