How do you replace the fan if the it dies on your active system? :) Which shop sells the replacement fan?

I was also looking at that case... can't find it for sale yet. Those 25cm fans are now available in a few cases at Newegg - just none with the same small chassis. Don't know about actual replacement fans though.

25cm is pretty huge. I doubt any case would require that much airflow. That's just overkill.

Supposedly it spins really slow so it moves air but doesn't make too much noise. Think of a 10" desk fan on low.

Yup, and they push air don't they? That's why the popularity of 120mm fans - lower noise and higher CFM. You can have more of one or the other, or a balance.

As I wrote in that other thread, Aerocool sells a case with that fan. And they are in stock at the egg.

Someone here has one. They posted that the Sonic mega-Tower would not clear the fan.

I really don't remember what HS the guy was using but he did have clearance problems
with a tower sink. Ya might try searching for 250mm or 25cm because that was in his recent post.

It's gotta come with an uber-bright LED fan to get my consideration ;)

GY: It better come with multiple LEDs all round to get mine.
As for the case, would be better if the PSU wasn't in the front...blowing air out the front? Preposterous! It's like regurgitating your dinner.

Screws in 2006? I thought at least thumbscrews/rivets became standard... I prefer latches but anything can do except screws - that's just plain pathetic in 2006, seriously.

I wonder how much dust that this is going to have. How hard do you guys think it would be to create a filter for it on the inside of the case. There might not be a big fan guard; its hard to tell from the pictures.

I wouldn't say so. The air at the bottom of the case (and furthest from the CPU/video card, no less) is probably the coolest part, so the drop in power output is minimal. The side fan pretty much provides all the intake air, seems like.

Hey, wasn't there another case that put the PSU at the same front/bottom spot? I remember it being recommended for some people around here who were looking for smallest possible standard ATX.

zap,
nMedia makes one as does JPAC (may be the same base chassis for all I know). And those drive cages are on the way. Now all I need to know is how much each kit weighs individually so I can calc shipping and I'll have a number.

Thanks Zepper - looking forward to the bottom line on those drive bays. Found the JPAC and nMedia - thanks for those too - but those use 60mm fans and the iCute looks like it uses 80mm fans plus grills are not very restrictive. Heck, I'd probably buy one if someone sold it for cheap without the 25cm fan or a PSU - it looks like it has potential for being a very small LAN party box that can hold standard ATX motherboards and still has good ventilation - plus no side fan = possible window. ;)

Interesting design, very similiar to some of the aforementioned Aerocool cases. Probably not good for overclocking as such, as you would have to remove the front panel to manually switch off the power supply. Would make a decent LAN party rig, just add handles to the top. However, I still like cases with front to back airflow, which is why I would probably take a Cooler Master mATX over this one, like the Centurion 540:

Yes it is short, but it's deep - nearly 20"... The air is stirred well by that huge fan and exits thru wide open areas both front and rear. They have several models, some with the big fan and others without. Some have the weird 14cm fan like the Aerocools in the front. The metal is thin - only 0.6mm so it would have a hard time not feeling flimsy. We'll just have to wait for a more reliable site to test them - it appears they were dealt out to the "gosh, gee whiz, wow" fan-boy sites to get the buzz going - man was it successful. Do a search on Coolive and you come up with tons of forum threads... Their web site is http://www.icute.com.tw .

XClio is selling boxes with that big fan in them too. Very inexpensive but they are otherwise not like the iCute at all - more like the Aerocool.
