New HOTAS + rudder pedal set from Logitech

I just saw this mentioned over at AvSim:

Flight System G940

The stick looks non-adjustable, so it'd be unsuitable for me. (I don't think there's any joystick on the market that isn't too big for me right out of the box, so I have to go with the higher end Saitek sticks.)

Other than that, it looks roughly comparable to the X52 w/the additional Saitek rudder set...but pricey to say the least. No LCD display though, like the X52 and other Logitech peripherals.

Still, nice to see that at least someone's putting resources into developing new flight sim hardware.

Looks nice but pretty steep tag @ $300.

Amber, what good flight sim games are out there that have a decent campaign and "career." FSX is fun but I dislike the lack of a campaign.

There are third party [payware] add-ons for FSX that add career mode.

- Air Hauler
- Cargo Pilot
- XPax (airline pilot)
- FSPassengers (airline pilot)

I think most of those have demos (Cargo Pilot doesn't have a Vista compatible demo, but the full game does support Vista).

Great to see a new FFB stick on the market! This and the soon to be release Rise of Flight! Good sim news all around. 🙂

Does it have enough "real" buttons to simulate all the commands necessary? It looks like it's missing quite a few that a real HOTAS would have.

EDIT:

I don't know much about flight sims, but when I saw this thread, I had an odd desire to compare it to real HOTAS devices that I know of.

I think it's an absolute joke, guess I'm in the minority again. That HOTAS is fail compared to just about any other unit on the market.

I'll keep my X-45 until it finally completely dies.

Ohhh nice.....

Shame Microsoft killed off Flight Simulator, if I ever had the extra cash to drop on something like that I bet it would be an awesome pairing.
