Not bad - wonder how that thing gets around with 5 people and a loaded cargo area with only 162ft-lbs?

Blah...too bland, looks just like every other mini-suvs out there (Escape, Tribute?). No character and get some personality please.

Hmmmm..... Honda CRV. Did you know that they have 3 different model sizes and we only see one of them? Also for other car manufacturers like the Toyota Corolla. There's the Corolla Altis in Taiwan that we'll never see here. Alot roomier. oh well.....

what is that stem coming out of the dash? looks like it blocks driver access to the radio controls? and why are the HVAC controls almost on the floor? and the parking brake is stuck on the lower console too... did honda outsource the ergonomics design? thats just horrid!

honda doesn't have a big enough engine to properly move a large SUV. there were rumors about an 8 coming to put in the RL, but that died. (i don't understand the RL engine... its a POS... honda's own 3.2 makes more torque and more power... and the small block chevy makes more torque, more power, runs on regular unleaded, and would get the same mileage in that application)

Looks clean and mainstream, like Honda wants their cars to look, but I predict that the US model will have painted bumpers (instead of black) upon release or within one year.

I wonder where the parking brake handle will be on manual transmission models. That would take a little bit of getting used to, but AT drivers generally will never use it. It looks like the put it there to keep the floor flat from the front console back, or to make room for that big center thing (I wonder if its removable.) It does look like the HVAC controls should be little higher, but they look very easy to use. I don?t think the AT selector will block the radio at all when it?s in drive.

Typical of Honda, you need to rev the engine to make power, but that?s OK with me. I generally only drive manual transmissions and I think its absolutely inexcusable if the power falls off significantly before the redline. At the torque peak of 3600 RPM, the engine is only making 111 HP, so you?ve got to keep going, but it will eventually make 160. Not really a good thing (frustrating) if it?s all loaded up with the AC on, etc. I have a Civic LX, so I have plenty of experience with low torque.

It may be booring but it looks a whole lot better than that Pontiac Aztek... that is one butt-ugly hunk of metal. :)

can somebody please tell me why anybody would want a car that looks bigger than a sedan but is actually about the same size on the inside? what the hell is the point of a minisuv?

<<Are they ever gonna come out with 8 seater SUV?>>
I think Honda is coming out with a MDX-based SUV next year, which will seat 7. I predict that it'll be a very hot seller as the MDX is.
As for the new CRV, I think the Toyota RAV4 looks alittle better.

Am I the only one that hates SUV's entirely? Can't see over them in any sedan and the majority of the people that drive them are ALWAYS GOING SO DAMN SLOW and you don't know if it is because they are retarded, beating their kids in the backseat, or if there actually is a car in front of them. Not to mention they are great for the environment getting 2 mpg.

Honda already has larger engines worldwide for 8 pass vans. So they have the ability to make an 8 pass SUV but marketability of it worldwide is low. Not many other countries are SUV crazy.

Elfenix... I agree every bit on the interior.. its shoddy.. first the civiv and its dash mounted gear lever.. now this.. this hedious this.

What happened to logical and refined and everything is where its supposed to be honda. Oh boy.. this isnt going to sell.. I can tell right now it will need a redsign of the interor.. somehow ehen the AT gear is in drive it will nicely come in front of teh stereo contorls.. unless honda provides steering wheel mounted controls standard.

I actually like the styling, looks clean. All it needs is some wider tires. And while 160hp/162 lb/ft of torque isn't exactly muscular, its still an improvement over the older model. People wanting more hp is probably looking for a bigger SUV. There's the Acura MDX for that:)

My dad loves his 98 CRV-EX. Lots of cargo room, very maneuverable, and economical. He gasses up once a month. Can't beat that. Only small complaint is that is lacks power. I drove it for an extended period of time and loved it. It probably has as much cargo room as my X5 4.4.
