Why is that? Based on the couch I have, I didn't have many options on where to put everything.

At least turn the whole setup kitty corner, then move the fronts out a bit.

I don't know if that would work well with my L shaped couch.

I meant add another 10cm... the further from hard surface, the better the speakers sound

I recommend Axiom Audio over Polk. Their EP600 and EP500 subwoofers are killer.

There are a dozen manufactures that make better speakers then Polk, it is all a compromise about SQ and price though. Couldn't lose with the Polks.
