Hey guys. Going to be taking some trips over the winter and probably next summer to Latin America and Europe/Asia. I'm currently on Verizon so I don't think I can use my current phone. Currently thinking about getting the Samsung Focus Flash (hmm never tried a windows phone). Any other suggestions for another device? I was also planning to bring my Canon S90...are there any devices with a camera good enough to take the place of the Canon? Thanks!

seems obvious but...unlocked iPhone, Nexus4, or used nexus for cheap.

I just did a week in India using my ATT iPhone4s. SHIT shots when there's no lighting, but superb when there is.

Galaxy Nexus or Nexus 4, due to (current) mid- to high-end hardware and pentaband GSM support.

Cheaper is better. Main thing I'm wondering about is whether a nice camera on smartphone is a good idea vs smartphone plus one of the better pocket cameras.

Good phones in general:

- Galaxy Nexus
- Nexus 4
- Galaxy S3
- Galaxy S2
- HTC One X/X+

I think these are all reasonable phones that work worldwide.

That's what i would do. Cheap smartphone and a better pocket camera. Canon S90 is nice and it doesn't add much weight.

Unlocked (Canada) Lumia 920 is pentaband.
You mentioned camera so Lumia 920 came up. It is not cheap though.

Otherwise, Nexus 4 or iPhone 4/4s/5.
