i need some good headphones. i don't really know where to start and i'm scared to browse head-fi as it is way over my head. anywho, my roommates have some nice seinhiesers that are very comfortable and i like that. I'll mainly be using these headphones to plug into my bass amp so i can play bass at night without pissing off the neighbors and for watching movies and listening to music on my pc. Don't plan on traveling with them but it is possible i might use them on a flight with my ipod or something. comfort and quality are my main concerns. any help is appreciate

thanks

Sony MDR-V6. Best all around headphones ever made for the cost. Make sure you get original, not the MDR-7506. Even though they are the same but dif packaging the V6 "should" cost less. I have mine for over 17 years and they still kick ass.

BTW, if you are gonna use HP for bass amp stay away from senns 280pro, they suck for bass and will clip like mad.

also, what do you think about Sennheiser HD555 ?
what about sennheiser hd525 ? there are some in FS/FT and the seller claims 'head shaking bass" which sounds like it is what i want... :p

HP is short for headphones. Thos other Senn models are great but they are not sealed. Bass will sound phenominal on them but your roomates will also hear it. :)

hear it through headphones? i doubt it...my room is in the back with the door closed. on top of that, i play bass with a bass amp, so maybe this wont bother them, haha. one of them plays guitar anyways so he wont care.

they never hear my speakers...i wonder, could headphones really be that loud?

The 25's are closed. If you want something similar to the HD 555's sound (which is amazing :)) but closed, look at the ATH-900's. Amazing for the price.

Sennheiser and Bose......... Overpriced for what you get. If you like Almost zero bass and ringing ears, go with one of these brands in the $200.00 range.

I know most of you probably think JVC sucks in Receivers & Speakers but their Headphones are much better.

JVC does'nt list them on their website anymore, but the HA-DX3's are great! I've also owed the DX1's but......... a game got to me and they just all of a sudden BROKE against a wall

I paid about $220. for these then...... but now, they can be had for under $100. easily. Better than Sennheeser!
