New Hard Drive Won't Display

OK, so I installed my new Maxtor 80 GB to test it out. My current rig has a SCSI boot drive. the Maxtor and another WD are the only IDE devices. I have them configured with the Maxtor as a master and the WD as a slave on one channel. They both show up in the BIOS and at boot-up. I can see both drives in Partition Magic, as well as under Device Manager. But I can't see the new Maxtor any where else! No 'my computer', nothin. What am I doing wrong? 😱

Yup. I didn't use any of the Maxtor software. Just 'activated' (acknowledged?) in Partition Magic, then formatted it as NTFS (running XP). The fact that it shows up in Device Manager tells me Windows 'sees' it, correct?

Running XP. Partition size shouldn't be an issue because the other IDE drive is a WD 100 GB. Although it's currently split into two partitions (70 and 30) it did originally display as 100 when it was one big partition.

under Start->Programs->Adminstrative Tools->Computer Management ->Storage->Disk Management what do you see in regards to your missing drive?
