Good Morning, My son who uses this forum all of the time has installed a new hard drive 40 mg into my computer and then installed Windows XP. My old operating system was ME. My question is the my old ( 4years) Office Jet T45 all-in-one printer is not supported in this XP operating system.

Let me also say that it does not matter to me weather I use ME or XP, but he feels that this is a better operating system. Granted it is new but if I am unable to use my old All in one printer then what good is it. I have gone many times to the HP site to attempt to figure out why I can't get a "patch" to fix the errors. I am also unable to get my speakers to work with this system. The computer was built by Dell about 4 years ago if that helps any.

What should I do?
Thanks in advance for any help that you might provide.

Thanks for your reply.
I have used that site before and this time I actually got farther ( it actually looked like it was installing the software) along than before. But there was still a problem.

it took me to this site:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?product=60398&lang=en&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&docname=bpu02510#P35_5876

Shoot I thought that I could work my way aroung this problem but I am just lost!!

Sorry, I have to ask another question "ME is the suck" Does that mean bad?

Yes, that is what he means. I think nanaki333 sometimes forgets that not all of us are 16 year olds. What happens when you download the driver and run it?

Sorry for the delay!
Nothing happens, It just comes back and states that it is not supported by 2000R. What ever that means, I thought that the downloads/patches were supposted to fix that.

At this point in time should I attempt to take the program off and not us the installation CD that came with it at all ? And just download from the site?
