New hard drive is not displayed under My Computer

I recently installed a new (used) hard drive into my system. Windows XP found the hard drive and installed the driver for it. The hard drive is displayed in the Device Manager and it appears to be working fine. However, I have no access to the hard drive. It is not appearing under My Computer or anywhere else besides the Device Manager. I have tried to uninstall/reinstall the drivers for it but it appears to do the same thing every time. Any ideas? It's a Quantum Fireball AS20.5 installed onto my RAID controller. Oh yeah, if I install it on my regular IDE controller, Windows will freeze while booting up, even though it's not set as the boot drive.

Thank you,
Jon

Did you format, fdisk and all that drive preparing stuff? Cause if it has no File system on it, you won't be able to see it in my computer. But having no FS has no bearing on it locking your computer on an IDE channel, so it could very well be a bad drive.
