new halo reach video-multiplayer and there are jetpacks in it!

Looks alright, but the whole jetpack concept is just "meh" to me. Assassinations are cool. I'm guessing "Invasion" is basically a horde mode, which I like. Overall, looks like more Halo 3 with incremental improvements though.

Guess I'll wait for the beta to make a worthwhile opinion.
 
Hmm interesting. I'm not a big halo fan but jetpacks wer fun in Red Faction:Guerilla multiplayer. May keep my eye on it now.
 
I hate Halo...yet for some reason the past few days I've had the urge to play H3. It's actually kind of fun but having to shoot someone 200 times to kill them is a bit annoying.
 
The text they had to announce the new modes looked like it was done entirely in the engine. I wonder if that means a more powerful forge editor? I realize I'm grasping at ideas here, but just thinking out loud.
 
Jet packs would probably be limited to certain playlists or game types (a pure fun playlist like rocket race), and I'm guessing they'll have a limited thrust time so you can use them to boost your jumps, but not to fly around. Kind of like playing in low gravity. Playing with rockets in low gravity can be fun.

I'm looking forward to this.
 
its like they are making this seem like.... tribes?

not a fan of jet pack.. will have to wait and see.
 
I'm hoping the jet packs are limited, but who knows maybe it will be a nice addition. I do like the looks of the head hunter mode - where I assume the race will be to see which team can get more headshots/skulls or whatever.

I'm looking forward to this either way, but I'm also one of the nerds that has read all the books and actually like the storyline.
 
pretty disappointing, looks pretty much identical to halo 3 w/new maps. jetpack looks pretty lame imo as well.

but i do like seeing some new weapons in multiplayer.

regardless, im buying it day 1 heh.
 
Looks pretty good, but when it was first announced I thought it'd be more of a new game than a modified Halo 3. Aren't they effectively killing Halo 3 MP with this game?
