The problem with next-gen, HD titles with cinematic effects is that screenshots don't really do them justice. You can't really judge until you've seen it live running at its native res on a screen. I'm a LOT more concerned with framerate on the Xbox 360 (will Halo 3 manage full 60fps without choppiness?) than I am with how it looks in screenshots.
That said, DirectX 10 games will look better. I remember last year when the Xbox 360 was launching and the Sony hype machine was running full strength--I told everyone on these forums that by the time PS3 launched, the best PC graphics would still be one generation behind and wouldn't be affordable compared to consoles. Well guess what--I was WRONG! Yeah, I said it! Pick up a decent C2D and a single 7900xt or x1950xtx and you're on par with what Xbox 360 and PS3 can do. SLI will do you better, and the 8800 series will be a generation ahead of the consoles. I'm waiting to see what developers can do with this power--Crysis is just the tip of the iceberg.
