New guy at work buys a vehicle worth more than five of ours put together!

No Lifer
A new guy from out of country just bought a V8 toyota sequia <sp> which exceeds the value of the 5 developers in the office in worth. We have a 92 golf, 93 sentra, two 98 civics, and a late 90's geo metro. LOL! We have such boring cars because three of the people have kids, one of them is just cheap, and I didn't have enough credit to get a new car 🙂

Have the 5 of you go and beat the living daylights out of him, lol 😛 Or invite him and his car to your destruction derby down by the tracks 😉 Your Geos/Hondas against his Toyota 🙂

Funny. I work with a guy who makes the same amount I do. He's single, no kids. He bought a new Lincoln Navigator, then he put on some 20-inch chrome rims. The rims alone were $2,500.

I asked him how he affords it and his reply "it's my only monthly bill." Well, I know he has rent, electric, food, cable, cell phone....some people just amaze me.

Out of country - maybe he doesn't understand taxes. Maybe he doesn't have to pay them because he's not a citizen.

I discovered the other week that my dads friends car is an S-Class Merc with EVERYTHING loaded apart from GPS on it! His car is worth £50'000 and his number plate is a personallised one bought for him BY his boss. This guy didn't go to college just dropped out of school as he only wanted to drive cars but wasn't old enough. Did bits of jobs and then worked this £1 mill company up to £10 mill now and he is MD. Much respect for this guy.....

A very nice man and cool guy. He use to drive this other Merc as well very flash. Dam big inside when he gave us lifts....

He might of saved up, or getting insentives for coming there, or someone close to him could of died and he was in the will.

or maybe he is the ucpm(under cover plant manager), as my dad always said he was when he worked for dupont.

I tend to take stuff like this for granted.. I grew up in a neighborhood where every other car was a bimmer / merc / porsche...

My mom has an SL500 and my dad has an S500, most of my friends' families have at least one car worth >$60,000.
It'll take me a few years of work to even start thinking about one of those 😛

He must be knee-deep in debt then

Why does this amaze you?

<< Be careful, the SUV bashers will be in here any minute. >>

Looks like the "anyone who thinks differently than me" basher got here first.

Sounds to me like you need to ask him whose rearend his lips are attached to............hehehe

Anything more than a device that gets you from point A to point B in a safe, reasonable amount of time is just overkill to me....

Reminds me of this guy that lives next to a good friend of mine. He's about 27-28, bought a new slk<?> benz, put some 20" rims and more Alpine than you can find at any car stereo place.
Yes, he lives with Mommy and Daddy...
Would suck to bring home a chick...and have her realize he still lives at home and works for a car....

<< Fancy cars worth more than yours impress you? >>

Yeah, duh!

Actually he is in his 30's. He just moved from England. Not sure what his income was there but he sold everything and turned his british pounds into US bucks, so I guess he probably had this sitting around. He is living with GF now so no rent 😀

BTW i never knocked him for it. All the power to him. I just think it's funny that his car is now worth more than the boss's one too 😉

well, there is nothing wrong with what others buy. As long as he can afford it its all good. It just a reminder to yourself that what you should do to improve yourself so that the next new car in the lot would be yours. It'll amazing how much money people with no kids and no houses can do with their money 😉.

Now that's just f**kin sad. I think with the guy I'm talking of he had money saved up and thought he'd treat himself... fine with me!

I knew a guy making $10/hour Can who lived at home and bought a V6 GTI fully loaded. Sad!

Careful, the those Pro-SUV people will be here like flies on sh.... 😛
