questoin though ... what is the yellow pointer thingie w/the pause sign in it? what does that stand for?

It's the point you have dragged the route to. The new feature works by calculating a route from the start point to the yellow point, then from the yellow point to the end point.

I used this yesterday to pick a simpler, easier route than what Google was suggesting. Great feature.

I've noticed this too....it was one of the main reasons I still used Streets and Trips 2003

Is there any way to do the Dragging of a route within Google Earth? Or is it limited to Google Maps for now? And if it's limited to Maps, is there any way to save a list of common addresses in maps like I can in the 'My places" area in Earth?

Same problem.

doenst work that great tbh. if youre trying to change directions through a city it draws all sorts of wacky small routes on all the lesser streets. works for large changes though, but who needs it for that? online directions are still total crap. but its a nice feature to have

I just use it for calculating mileage or comparing two possible routes to see if one is shorter than the other.

i suppose thats usefull. i quit using them once i found out how bad they were. ive gotten directions that would have taken twice as long as other routes.

I can't get this to work. Whenever I drag the box on my route to a new street, the page refreshes, but nothing actually changes
