You actually get pissed off about something as silly as a favicon? Get a life. And if you really want to change search engines, MS Live is pretty good, close to Google-quality.

There's also the fact that they fucked up igoogle and won't fix it.
 
It took me half a second to realize it's a 'g' (eyes were focusing on the colors rather than the white space). I prefer their original favicon. Simpler and more elegant. The new one looks like it belongs to a kids educational company.
 
It was so ugly that at first I thought someone must've done something to my computer because there's no way Google would've used that.
