I know she prefers the Mac in the end but it doesn't even try to explain and convince us why the Mac "just works" and doesnt have problems.

The actor from Seinfeld Patrick Warburton who played David Puddy totally steals the screen and it actually made me think the PC is better than the Mac.

I can't believe Apple actually produced this vide

Thousands of viruses and tons of problems? What the fuck is that ginger talking about? I never have those problems with my own computers.

It's implying that while PC might have all this fancy shit, it still runs Windows which is terribly unreliable and vulnerable to intrusion.

It's not saying anything about Macs except that they just "work". And they just work because they run on the UNIX platform which has a better permissions system to avoid such intrusions.

In the end, PC is trying to sell itself to you, whereas Mac "just is"

Yes, that woman doesnt strike the viewer as if she knows anything about computers, to people watching the ad she looks like a computer illiterate who doesnt know what she's talking about.

These commercials aren't geared towards those with a technological inclination, but rather to those who just want a nice looking, fully functional and reliable computer. They're not catering to the needs of a minority.

Even if the commercial is targeted to computer novice it still looks like she isnt someone you would listen to about choosing a computer, she choses a Mac without trying to convince us why she made this choice

Neither do I, with limited user accounts, common sense and security:thumbsup:

Apple is so virus free that the next version of OS X might include anti-malware software!

I think its got a lot more to do with the reasoning behind writing malicious programs.

Why fish with a bobber and a worm when you can fish with a net.

Apple is so overrated. If all you can offer me is a little more stable OS then I'll pass. Macs have less virus' because no one uses them. If you wrote malicious code would you target an OS with 90+% marketshare or one with 5% marketshare.

Full admin account here, no security software, and haven't had a virus in years.

I don't understand this viruses thing. I've been using Windows for 15 years. I've had to deal with 2 viruses. ever. My parents are fairly pc illiterate and they've been using Windows just as long. Total number of viruses? 1.

I don't really hate OSX, i just hate mac fanboys and the fact that you cant run 80% of the software I use on a mac. It's a very niche platform that is better than windows for some tasks, but vastly inferior in many others. Too bad they're trying to sell themselves as some sort of panacea, that anyone would be better off with a mac, which is just untrue.

I hope apple fails...

their desktop line up is horrible and can't get updated quickly enough. I think apple even knows this and only focuses on the laptop market

With no security software how do you know you don't have any? My dad said the same shit to me, sp I ran Spybot on his PC and about 6 things came up. His common sense was "I don't do shit I'm not suppose to, so I don't need any software to prevent my computer from getting infected" Mind you my pops is someone who's been on computers since day 1.

i dont think its horrible...they just focus too much on slimming down their machines all the time, while incrementally upgrading hardware. its not terrible specs, as ive seen far worse. i do like how its an all-in-one - i've seen far worse attempts from other manufacturers...

however, with that said, where the HECK is quad core and blu-ray?

Thats what Apple shoots for, people who dont know ANYTHING about computers. Those are the core user base.

Unrelated topic: Bose customers know nothing about sound or electronics.
