I can play CS still but UT2003, BF1942 and Generals are no fun to play with all the "screen jitters"

sounds like you should get this, or a 9500/9600. you wanna play those games, and those cards will run them awfully better than a GF2. if you got teh ca$h, what are you waiting for ?!

Well I have really been considering the 9700 Pro's since it appears they will have greater longevity than the 9500/9600 cards as far as upcoming titles like Doom III etc. I just can't bring myself to pay $300 for a video card.
I'll wait a bit hoping for a Hot Deal to show up on one of them!

I'm in the same boat, ICXRa. It's hard to justify the dough for the 9700, but that's ideally the card I want.

same here. The 9700 is the ideal card now but its just too expensive. I'll probably wait to the see which card wins for DOOM3 before I make my next purchase.

Facing the same issues as many of you, I went for the 9500 Red PCB with L-shaped memory, and successfully soft modded it to a 9700 Pro (and beyond -- the memory really overclocks well). These are probably hard to find these days. You may still be able to find them on eBay though.

I am gonna be looking to replace my Vid card for the release of Star Wars Galaxies. Currently have a geforce 3 ti 200. This 4600 may be a good option for me. I was pretty much settled on going for a 4200 for around 100 bucks. With the FX line showing up now i hope to see some nice price drops in the 4600/ 4800 lines

I handed mine down to a child who regrettably will never be able to fully appreciate what they have. "That's big" was their only reaction.

Putt-Putt has probably never saved the zoo so well as with this Ti4200. :)

I'll sell their old GeForce2 GTS-V for cheap, though. :)

My Voodoo 3 3500 tv 16mb can still play unreal tournament, warcraft3, disciples 2 and HOMM 4 no problem at all.
You guys aren't loosing anything from not buying this card.
Use your card until it's no longer work then switch otherwise your money is better use at feeding the hungry children.

Is this card better than the Gainward Ultra GeForce4 Ti4800 SE (on Enhanced Mode Settings)?
Anyone know? :light:

As far as I know, all GF4 Ti4800 SE cards are actually GF4 Ti4400 with AGP 8X support instead of 4X of the older Ti4400. But for now, this is irrelevant in terms of gaming as the latest crop of 3D games still does not take advantage of the AGP 8X yet and I'm not sure when that will be (sure, it's just a matter of time). This Albatron GF4 Ti4600 will support only AGP 4X. But com'on, for the price of $180, that's the lowest price I ever heard of for a GF4 Ti4600. If you want AGP 8X and may be DX9, then you should shell out $20 more and get a ATI 9500/9600 PRO?

I just sold my GF4 MX420 for $55 and using my GF2 GTS-V atm, but need a faster one to play high end games (gta3 vice city, etc..)

so please post comments about this card fast! ;)

also, is this card retail or oem? i'm thinkin retail cuz it comes with games

Received the above mentioned vid card today and it runs MOHAA without any problems, not interested in AA of AF. $179 is a very good price on TI4600.

nobody is pointing out that these cards are cpu dependent -- ie. this is not gonna be no magic wand that will soup up the comp if one is using a p550e or whatever (anyway)
nobody is talking about newegg's/albatron's dealing with bad/returned cards (i don't know -- i'm asking)
thanks to the op for even bothering to post the deal in this forum
i was glad just to get the heads up, but obviously that's just me
keep on keeping on

I have a GeForce3 Ti200 still going strong. It's at Ti500 speeds, but it runs fine.

This summer I'll probably upgrade to an ATi Radeon 9500.

I aGREE about the cards but I think its important to note (as in my case.....) I have a NEW All-in-wonder Radeon 9700 only to find out that it is not entirely compatible with VIA 8X chipsets such as found on the Soyo Dragon Platinum....

anyone else know about this?
