Well, it'd been a while, and figured it was time to build myself a true gaming rig..

-ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard
-2xMSI GeForce NX8800GT OC 512MB GDDR3 Graphics Card (SLI setup)
-4x1GB G.SKILL 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
-Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

-AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Windsor 2.6GHz Socket AM2 Processor Model ADA5200CSBOX
-ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler

-Antec Solo Black/Silver Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
-2xAntec 75002 92mm Case Fan
-Thermaltake toughpower W0117RU ATX12V / EPS12V 750W Power Supply

How'd I do?

If it's a totally new build, I would not go AMD unless you enjoy getting lower performance for your money. The C2D chips offer better value, especially if you overclock them (which is ridiculously easy these days).

Is this system already purchased or are you spec-ing it out? If not bought already, what is your budget?
