New gaming rig for 3D - need opinions.

I will go with the 1333mhz CL9 Ripjaws, I read good reviews about them.

As for SSD, don't have OCZ here for a reasonable price, have either Intel or A-data (with sf1200).

I'll probably get another gtx 570 down the road...hopefully before skyrim is out.

SF-1200 is the way to go at the moment.

Pick up another 570 as soon as you can.

Drop that down to 4GB of DDR3 1333 (as Donut said, DRAM speed doesn't matter for Sandy Bridge overclocking), a single F3 1TB, and a Corsair 750TX. That should get you pretty close to the second GTX 570.

If that doesn't get you to 2 GTX 570's, drop the D14 as well and just overclock as high as you can on the stock cooler. Anand was able to get to 4.4GHz on the it and trust me, the second GTX 570 is much more important than that last 100MHz.

I5-2500K (Still at 4.5ghz)

2 X 4GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1333mhz CL9
1 X Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
1 X Adata 40GB SSD S599 (os only)
1 X GTX 570 (and extra one down the road)
Seasonic X-750

I was planning on buying that in 2-3 weeks, will hopefully see some gtx 560 sli benchmarks by then...could always get two of those.

a 570 is around $400 here too, but the 2 460s you were going to get would cost around $400, assuming you get the standard 1GB version, the SE version might cut $20 off. The point is that just because you aren't getting two cards, doesn't mean you won't still get desired performance. A decent alternative to the 570 would be the 6950 if prices are any better.

They are, but the OP seems not to like the idea of a $400 graphics card. Maybe a $300 one will be more of an interest. AMD does have 3D, it's just more of a "budget" 3D.

OP, I would not go for an ADATA drive. ADATA SSDs, although having a Sandforce controller, have horribly cheap memory and are known to crash the OS during sleep and hibernation.

I was not aware many games supported amd's 3d I thought it was mostly used for 3dbluray. As for ADATA i was under the impression most of the problems had been rectified.
 
I'm going to run it with 3D vision, so can't really use an ATI.

I've read a few articles about the 560, I might be able to fit 2 of those into my budgest, and I was going to buy the rig in 2-3 weeks which is exactly the rumored launch date of the 560 (January 25).
So, waiting for some benchmarks...😎

I actually read good reviews about the Adata, and I don't normally use either hibernate nor sleep on my desktop, so I'm good to go!.

with the rumored specs the 560 should do well, however can you fit $500 in your budget for video cards? The rumored price is 250.

The original plan was 400$ for GTX 460 SLI, so yeah...can do 500$.

700 was too much though (2 X 570...it's not even 700, it's more, the GTX 570 is ridicoulsly expensive here)

Awesome, that will likely be a good option. I've been looking forward to repacing this 9800GTX, so I'm quite excited myself!

No need to bust out the ellipses, 😵 "here" can mean anywhere. If you wanted to make sure that we know that you are not located in the US, why don't you just state that?

The D14 and X-750 are still overkill. You're looking at right around $150 right there.

Agreed, I've seen great branded PSUs for just about $80 for a 750W. I don't think you need the absolute creme of the crop.
