My apologies for necroing a post, but it's my post, so that's ok...right? >_>

I know it's been a long time coming, meant to report back long ago, but the procrastinator in my said "i'll do it tomorrow!". The build went perfect though, did an outside build, posted and boot screen came up with no errors at all. Only flaw in the whole build, was I didn't order a DVD drive with the parts. I thought I'd use the one i had, but didn't look to know that it was a PATA drive. :/ otherwise, went together perfectly and I love my system so much <3

First off, A BIIIIIIIIIG thank you to you all for all the advice, not only on this build, but on the whole forum. All of the stickies, research references, tech updates, everything. I don't post around here, but still around every other day reading.

Now, onto why I necro'ed. I'm looking to continue the upgrades, it's time for the GTX 250 to be put to rest. It's been a grand ol' card, really showed it's colors going from a Dual core 4200 to an i5-3750, but it's at it's limit.

I'm looking at a couple different cards, both 7970's:
the Sapphire http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814202008
or one of 2 Gigabyte http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125413
or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125439

Or....wait to see what comes around with the Island series release?

I chose those 3, well...2...but i can't remember which Gigabyte it was >_>, simply because of brand name. The mid-range pick (the powercolor) is near the same price point, as well as within my budget range. But, I've had a very very bad experience with powercolor in the past. but then again, I said the same about asrock, and <3 my extreme4.

Second (3rd?) order of business, is the Haswell. Worth the upgrade on (or shortly after) release, or wait and see the impact after a few months? Not really urgent that I upgrade I spose, might see what Christmas brings around 🙂 Also, I read about DDR4 somewhere, is the ram standard changing? And will it with Haswell?

I think that's all for now! Again a very BIG THANK YOU to all the posters, super users, and moderators for making such an enjoyable and educational forums!

and...I'll try and get pictures posted this week! (finally!)

Ok, this is seriously the last question. Only issue with my system as is, well, physically, is that some times...and I mean, it's happened 3 times in the last...9 months, the heatsink fan wont start spinning on power up. The first time it happened, I noticed a temp spike on the Asrock monitor of 50c (idle at 30) and that was after 8 hours of max settings Civ 5 (did i mention i <3 my pc?). I simply poke the fan, and it spins, and is fine. Should I be concerned? I know ivy bridge can handle higher temps than older processors, and 50c never set off an alarm for me in the past. But, just concerned if it happens to stop spinning one day while I'm not home. Sorry for the lack of grammar!

Glad it went well and kudos to you for reporting back.

1. I'd get the one that costs the least but still has dual fans. Right now, that's this PowerColor.

2. Absolutely not. Haswell will be faster than Ivy Bridge, but we're talking 10-15%.

3. The fan not spinning on boot is perfectly normal, as long as it starts up on its own once the system gets warm. If it doesn't start on it's own, try setting a slightly more aggressive fan profile in the BIOS.
