I 'm going to be getting a new gaming computer in the next few weeks. The parts from newegg come out to be like $910. from ibuypower it is like $1010. Is the 100 dollars worth the warrenty. From newegg i would get the Sonata case, the ibuypower comes with a cheap raidmax that sells for $30.
Would i be better off building of buying for that price difference and is the warrenty worth the price
Thanks

Whether you build or buy, the quality of a warranty is as good as the vendor and manufacturer. Any reliable dealer will warranty your parts against being DOA.

You don't show your profile so I don't know where you are, but if you're in a major city, it may be worth finding exactly the components you want from local sources. That way, if something fails, your recourse is a short drive, instead of shipping charges and a long hold on a customer support line or delays going through RMA's with manufacturers.

I live in L.A. so I'm spoiled. We have so much available locally that I only buy from local vendors. It's easily worth an extra $10 - $20 for a major purchase, just to have help no further than a local phone call.

RMA's can be a hassle, but your saving 100.00. So Definitly just build it! Its a great learning experience also. Plus you can use that 100.00 for 2 blockbuster PC games. 🙂

If you're getting cheaper parts, then the difference is really not just $100. The case difference makes it $170, and if other parts are cheapened it could easily be $200-250.

Of course if the ibp comes with a legal copy of Windows (and your parts didn't) then the difference is back down to $100-150 again.

I might pay $100 for assembly, testing, and a warranty. But I'd never buy a system with a lousy $30 case, they'd have to let me pick the good parts I'd buy on my own.

www.ABScomputer.com is a sister company to newegg, if you're not comfortable building your own then see what they have.

Get it from NewEgg and get the parts you actually want. One of the biggest reasons NewEgg is so popular is because they don't hassle you if you need to RMA something.
