New Fry's opens this sunday (6/1)

drove past it when I was on Vaction.

Could be neat. I remeber when The one in MV opened it mass confusion😉
 

They're having a "soft" opening TODAY at noon.

Drove in on Monday... one of the trainees (or trainers?) told
me it would be sometime Wed. afternoon.

Wednesday another grunt said it would be Thursday.

Thursday night they had a sign posted on the front door saying:

Temporary Hours:

Friday12-6 PM
Saturday 10-7
Sunday 10-7

The "GRAND" opening will follow... with much fanfare and publicity,
and (hopefully) some grand deals 😀

Ok... I found San Marcos CALIFORNIA it on a map, but it looks as far away from San Diego as San Marcos TEXAS is from Austin and San Antonio. Oh well, we'll just make due with the one mega-Fry's in Austin.

San Marcos is in the north county of San Diego, California. I currently live in San Diego and was recently informed that the REAL GRAND OPENING for the San Marcos Fry's is on Saturday June 6th. However, for those of you who think you're going to get some amazing 'Grand Opening' deals in San Marcos, you're mistaken. During the weekend of the 6th, the existing Fry's in San Diego (Aero Drive) will be offering the same deals as the new store opening in San Marcos. Just to give all the San Diego peeps a heads up.

yeah, thats how fry's does the grand opening in the la area. when the new store opened in city of industry the grand opening specials applied to all the stores in the area: burbank, manhattan beach, etc.
i doubt our la stores can get in on the san marcos store grand openig though. 🙁

Just got back ! Great store !! Several HUGE aquariums
and fountains inside. A couple of 40' Jacob's Ladders
outside the main entrance, and 2 more inside near the
home theater demo rooms.

It's nice to see all the shelf stock in the right places, and
NOT have all the packages torn open and restuffed.
(Well that won't last long)

No HOT DEALS there yet, just the regular local sale prices
on a few items. One salesman told me the grand opening
would be next FRIDAY (Saturday is the 7th)

All I bought was a cup of coffee (SKU# 2276108 $1.25) 😉

I work at the CC, alot of people quit to go work at frys, whenever they come by i always ask about opening day deals. There are going to be killer deals, i am told, and they are expecting 10,000 on the grand opening day. They also are expecting the fire department to shut them down twice. From what i am told, that means they will have to stop letting people in and let it clear out a bit before more can enter the store.

 
So vital, where's picture #6?

I stopped by about 6:30 and it is a great looking store. I just hope they can keep it together when the hordes hit.

First time ever I went to check out of Fry's and there was NO LINE! Cashier was a bit slow but was friendly and helpful (no, not the one in picture #5).

With their 30 day pricematch guarantee (15 days on memory, bare CPU, etc) I shopped now knowing I can get any Grand Opening special difference back by just bringing in my receipt. Still, I'm likely to be one of the 10, 000 to get in on some other big deals.

i was at the register for like 20minutes because they couldn't find what i was looking for but i didn't mind kuz she was cute and we were chatting
