Well they all take your info, so what the heck, its free, its downloadable and if I dont use them (last resort) they dont get any data)...works for me.
Does anyone else think they are dangerous? Like other sites are saying?

does anyone else think that this is dangerous using archangel?
I know that other threads on other sites indicate that there is a real potential for danger using them. I dont understand why to be honest. DOnt they ALL take your info and use it somehow? Whats the difference with this one> And if I download but only use it occasionally they cannot get all all the data I have can they>
Or just what I do while I use them....right> wrong? Help here....I dont know enough about this stuff
Tanks
In advance

There is a difference between using the info you GAVE them signing up, and having a program ferret thru your settings and sending back info you may have anywhere on your PC that they TAKE.

Have any confidential emails? Personal notes?
Credit card numbers in cache?
Private phone numbers?

Funny thing. The number they post that is local to me is an Earthlink number. How do I know? Because I am logged in to that very same number now! :)

I think this is a full-blown scam.

CichliSuite is right - I used to have Earthlink and I just checked the page, and sure enough, my old Earthlink number was there....... Better avoid this one...

many isps use 3rd party dial-up providers in some citys b/c it's easier than setting up shop in every city in the US...just a little food for thought about the whole matching number thing

All in all ... who really cares? First of all you should use dummy info when signing up ... then use a firewall like ZoneAlarm (which is free BTW and does a great job) to catch your computer from sending your your personal surfing habit info while online. Best of both worlds ... free ISP and you disallow your comp from betraying you.
