New firmware for Nu-Tech DDW-082 DVD-RW...

Hey there, thanks for the update!@

I have the Nu-Tech DDW-082 DVD-RW drive as well. Although my first burn went fine on Ritech 4x -R media, the second and third burns did not go so well.

I'm using the Nero 6 software that came with the drive and Firmware B70 (came with it). It said there was a write error and quit on the second and third burns. Well the second dvd was trash but the third dvd still managed to work as far as I can tell, even though I got an error.

Sooooo, I went online and found the fireware update. I downloaded it and it says, "Your device is not allowed to update this FW!"

What the hell! I have a 082, I don't understand. In fact, all the firmware updates from nuTech's site do NOT work with this drive.

This drive (and entire computer actually) that I'm using is for my roommate's parents and I'd really really like to get it working perfectly before I give it to them. Does anyone have any suggestions?!

It could be the software (I heard it was fine), the media (I heard it was fine too), the firmware or the drive itself or something else that ignorant me has no idea about. Please give me some ideas if possible, thanks!

you bought a drive that has been rigged/tampered not to flash anything.
i hate that, it happens on bargain deals

Ok, this is weird....I'm the only one that got this to work? I went from the B370 to the B373 then back to the B370, then to the B375 all with no problems. One question for both yadda and MAME...are you guys using this on the nForce2 chipset? I installed the Nu Tech on my P4/IS7 system, and I have heard the Nvidia SW drivers won't let the drive flash right. Supposedly you need to revert back to normal IDE's or NVidias normal IDE drivers for it to work. It probably has something to do with the way the SW drivers handle devices. If you look in the IDE section on the device manager, you can see once the SW drivers are installed, both the primary and secondary IDE channels are no longer there in the tradtional sense.

Just an idea...

I did send a support e-mail to nu corporation. I am not expecting anything but I wanted it recorded.

OK Insane you are lucky I guess...

My Nu drive has corrupt firmware. :disgust:

If anyone else is having problems run the program dvdinfopro at :dvdinfopro

Look at the screen that is created. Look next to the "Info" line. Are there Garbage characters???

Thanks

OK I just received my new drive after RMA it through Newegg. I had no problems bringing the firmware up to 375.
