The latest 1UP Yours E3 2008 Podcast has some interesting rumors on a to-be announced Final Fantasy game. Near the end of the podcast, Shane states that he has been speaking to representatives from Square Enix, who have told him that "Final Fantasy XIII on 360 announcement swung the ball towards Microsoft. At Square Enix's Japan event in 2 weeks, they will swing the ball back towards Sony".

- The 3rd Birthday will be on the PSP as well. Nomura's team will be working on it. FUCK YES!
- The Dissidia special download contents at the event is a Dissidia PSP Custom Theme.
- KINGDOM HEARTS coded (mobile) has a release window of Winter 2008.
- The FFXIII demo will be included in FFVIIACC, as will trailers for VersusXIII and AgitoXIII: - March 2009 Release

- There will also be a FFVIIACC PS3 bundle. The release will be in March 2009.
- FF AgitoXIII will also be released on the PSP, no release window. The 3rd Birthday PSP will be out in 2009.

- Dissidia PSP bundle confirmed. Release date will be in Dec 2008.
- KH DS is "this winter" without the 2008, so maybe early 2009.
- KH PSP is 2009.

- Apparently Kefka and Sephiroth are part of the new Dissidia trailer
- The No.14 in KH DS is called Shion (Xion?) and looks like Kairi.
- Aqua in KH PSP is apparently voiced by Megumi Toyoguchi.

FF VII would be the obvious choice, but it'd probably be on the PSP, not the PS3.

I honestly don't think anyone would care about an upscaled PSP version of the game with no tweaks. Everybody wants a faithful remake with today's graphical prowess.

With that said, you bring up a very logical option if they are bringing back FFVII in some form or another.

I hope it is a FF7 remake for the PS3, I have never played a jRPG and people always praise FF7, so I would love to try a modern remake of it. Plus, the current prices for used FF7s on the PS1 and PC are rather high, IMO... It is not that I do not like RPGs (story driven cRPG is actually my favorite genre of video games), it is just that I play western RPGs like Baldurs Gate 2, PlaneScape: Torment, and the NeverWinter Nights series (mainly for user made modules).

FFVII is one of the few RPG's (Japanese or western) I've ever played, and I thoroughly loved it. In fact, I think that's probably the only game besides Gran Turismo 3 that I can honestly say that I've been addicted to for more than the first few days after I purchased it.

That's what people want, but that would take 2-3 years and many millions of dollars. With FF XIII taking so long (and who knows what's going on with FF XIII Versus), I just don't see them announcing another PS3 game right now.

Based on the quote it has to be something big, so FF VII on the PSP fits. But it would be nice if they did it on the PS3... I'd buy it.
