Something along these lines would be a great addition for the new community thing... you know, having a link in our sig to our community page, which would have our stats there. It would have the same function, but without having to modify fusetalk, and would strengthen our new community idea. I really think you should give more thought to this.

Hi mod ,wouldn't it be no more difficult than selecting somone to be Elite?

Also I stumbled across someone who had a 'dismembered' status(lol),is it really that much hassle to customise a handful of member status's?

Btw 'scuse me if I sound drunk! ,I am!;)

The point being, the more they give out, the more people will request innane titles for themselves.

I think there are somewhere around 100 "elite", and the few others like AnandTech staff titles, and Den Mother. If they give titles to distributed computing members...well, how the heck are they supposed to keep up with that? Seriously. Make a post in DC, and you become a member?

I for one wouldn't want to have part of my daily routine being keeping track of who's a new member of DC, and who stopped (especially the "who stopped" part). They could give it based upon certain milestones, but then it becomes a title based upon who has the biggest herd/fleet/whatever-you-want-to-call-it.

It's just not practical, unless they get about 20 mods to keep track of nothing but titles....and that's kinda pointless, IMO.

The status elite is added in the fusetalk admin panel, you can then custom assign anyone to it. This job would become very tedious with even 25 people....
