Expected, but still shocking some of the earlier and later photos.

I listened to the Stuff You Should Know podcast on meth recently. Pretty frightening shit with an interesting history.

Obviously had some severe burn injury probably with skin grafts. Not sure why they included her unless those burns were from freebasing or something (directly attributable to meth/drug use).

I tried meth way back in the early 90s (snorted, not smoked). While the high was pretty awesomely intense (and lasted a long time), I felt so fucking horrible after I came down that I swore I'd never touch that shit again. I had a splitting headache, and I slept on and off the entire next day, even after I had slept about 12 hours. Like a bad hang-over, squared. It took two full days for me to feel fully recovered. You'd have to be a special kind of stupid to say "Oh my god, I feel fucking horrible now that I came down, I need to do more of that." I've never touched it again, at least not the street drug.

Ironically, I get legal access to amphetamines due to narcolepsy, including methamphetamine preparations, but I don't take it much because of the side-effects. And no, the pharmaceutical amphetamine is nowhere near as potent or intense, at least not in the recommended dosages. Maybe if you took three or four times the prescribed dose or something.

This Meth bust happened so close to home, it's not even funny. Was talked about around here for several weeks. Was pretty ironic how the bust fell in the investigator's lap. They were actually looking for stolen iPads when they stumbled upon the stash.

We had a bust/raid just several houses away a couple years ago. They found approx. 1lb of meth in a cereal box and over $150K cash stashed in the door panel of a car in the garage. The occupants of the home were a mother-daughter team.

I did meth for a short stint during my college career. Snorted and smoked it. It was maybe for a semester that I used it, but only on the weekend. I never did it without alcohol, it was easier to come down and I could fall asleep after a night. TBH the high was awesome as someone said before. It was def. a phase though, along with every other recreational drug out there that I phased in & out of my life.

Legalize!

Agreed. These things happen to them due to the impurites, the residue poisons left behind from the garage-manufacturing process. I'm not sure what trying them and locking them up and feeding them in prison does to help the problem...

Maybe burns from cooking her own meth in a bottle, it's pretty easy but really dangerous.
