This acquisition, coupled with the ridiculous money they spent on what'sapp makes me think FB is the new Yahoo!, i.e. they don't know what the fuck they're doing and are just overpaying on startups.

there's a few 0's missing from that cash value

$400,000,000 cash and the rest in shares (23.1 million)

Yeah I was gonna say.. how fucking stupid can those guys be to sell for $400,000 cash and the rest stock. That stock is probably gonna be worthless in a few years.

just pre-ordered the DK2 a week ago. now wondering if I should cancel it... this whole thing adds a lot of uncertainty to the future and direction of Oculus VR

I honestly just think Oculus will be left to operate on their own and Zuck just plans to bankroll what they are doing.

If it's about making OR better, Zuck could be the perfect sugar daddy.

LOL What planet are you living in that you think he's just going to bankroll a company and expect nothing in return?

If he just wanted to bankroll it he could have spent that 400mil to invested in it, instead he bought it outright. That means he wants to do something with it that the original owners would not have done.
