Microsoft put themselves in this position. They should be patching it any time it needs it. There are so many people still on XP that won't be leaving it any time soon. It's not up to your grandmas to know they need the latest Windows to check their email.

You want to monopolize the OS market? You have to put up with the consequences. Simply saying "people shouldn't be on it" isn't going to fix anything, and ignoring the situation isn't either. It's pretty much an obligation they will have to stick to for awhile, no matter how badly they want to get away from it.

Hell...I work for a company that still hasl 15k systems (that I know of) that are still on XP as of today in it. Even if people have to pay for it (which is my understanding that is occurring) support cannot stop yet.

The point is MS is not supposed to touch XP or IE on XP. Just let it rot.

Strange, I downloaded the file for XP Pro 32 bit...KB2964358, and when I tried to run it, it said my version of IE was not correct. I have IE8.06.001.18702, it is supposed to work. Anyone know what is wrong?

Just let Windows update find it. No problem on my two XP VM's doing it this way,

infected XP computers endanger healthy non-XP computers. XP users are sort of like parents who don't get their kids vaccinated.

Still can't believe my bank uses XP still, but alot of places still do that really shouldn't be.
