i have a crappy dell gx1 case and p3 550 and two hard drives stuck in there... and the psu fan is really struggling, cause its hotter now in the summer, so i bended some paper around the exhaust of the psu so it doesnt go towards the intake which is a few inches over on the reade of the case... sounds werid but if youhave aslim gx1 case with a fan cooled processor you know what i am talking about....

Here's an idea: Get an intake fan running like that as well. Imagine how well it'll work in winter ;)

And in the summer, just put in near the AC vent.

I'm a genius...I know. :p

Bona Fide, exactly why I keep my laptop next to the AC in the summer and open windows in the (30F and below) winter.

thats not a bad idea, but what happens when it rains? My window doesnt have an overhang so it gets wet. Does yours?

Well, one i got the screen covering it, and two, i've never seen rain come in the bottom part of the window where it is, so i'm pretty safe.

Pretty funny. I've always wondered why more servers aren't built purposefully in cold climates. It would seem if you have a large server farm, say, a couple hundred nodes, it would be beneficial to build the facility in Greenland or northern Canada or northern Russia and just pump cold air in from the outside rather than running an elaborate air conditioning system.
