So I recently cut a hole into two drive bay covers and put an enermax adjustable in to cool some deskstar drives (hey, it works for now and has a nice gold appearance). I liked it so much that I decided to do it again at the top (it's a full tower with 6 5.25 bays). When I bought this new enermax adjustable from newegg I noticed that the fan blades were not frosty clear but now glossy clear... it also appeared to have a slightly thicker guage wire, but I didn't really measure and it might just be my impression. I plugged it in using the 4 pin adapter and it seems that the fan is just noisier than the other enermax I had before.... even at the lowest setting.
Anybody know if they switched the innards or something? Maybe I've just got an out of balance one and should check to make sure there's no excess plastic on any of the blades but it makes a lower pitched whine than the other fan.
