I went to the Microsoft "New Efficiency" Windows 7 launch event in Philly today. The event itself was fine. The three sessions were interesting enough. The second two had some hilarious software demo technical problems.
They gave us our Windows 7 Ultimate as we left. I got home and opened it and it's a 32bit version only. No 64bit DVD and no 64bit version on the disc (2.3GB size if I recall correctly).
I went with my brother and his GF and they were there basically just to get a 64bit version (he's got an i7 with 6GB of RAM), so they were pretty pissed and didn't realize it until after installing it.
I don't know if they're doing that at all the events or if they will be sending a 32bit version copy to people hosting Windows 7 Launch Parties, but caveat emptor.
I'll be going to a friend's launch party so I'll find out if nobody reports it here first.
