New driver raised GPU core 10'C!

I just got to installing the new Forceware driver 185.85 tonight and I've been greeted with a surprise! My normal GPU temp while in windows is 58'C, it is now 67-68'C.

I have an 8800GT and in both cases (before/after drivers) I have made sure the fan is set to 45%. I am a little confused as to why this would happen. I was thinking it had something to do with the fact that I used RivaTuner and it was an older version, so I got rid of that and downloaded the EVGA precision tool to double check, and temps were reported as being 68'C with both programs.

Anyone experience a similar problem? And better yet, know how to resolve this? Thanks!
