Has anyone else seen the new Dove "Inner Beauty" (I think thats the tag line) ad campaign? It basiclly features somewhat fat chicks in very little clothing to advertise their body lotion....I hoenstly don't see the appeal in this...and had to do a double-take the first time I saw it :p

Someone actually put a "No Fat Chicks" bumper sticker over one of the ads the other day lol

EDIT hahaha....what do you know....I actually have an assignment to analyze and describe a modern ad campaign....and I think this is the peftect one!

I don't think it was "fat chicks" so much as it was "real women, not ridiculously thin, ultra glamorous models". That said, I've heard female friends comment that they didn't like the ad campaign and didn't want to see women of less than ideal proportions displayed in such a manner.

EDIT: Spelling

I don't mind the ads at all ... they might not weigh 81 lbs, but a couple of them still look good

Those ladies are average. Not really fat, not really skinny. Obesity is always having to sit in a booth when you go to the pizza buffet because your fat a$$ can't fit on just one chair.
And when you are that big, soap isn't the biggest issue when it's bath time. Figuring out how to fit into the tub is.

haha that's true...I was merely pointing out the fact that this is the first ad campaign that does not feature totaly "hot" chicks...but rather, "normal" ones....A risky move in today's society

Guess around 90% of the women in this country?

Those women aren't really fat. Although that one on the far left looks like she could hold her own in a bar fight.
