You guys are missing the deal here. Its $1199 for the 9100 AND a 24" monitor that is worth $800-900. This seems like a good deal, although I'm in no need of another desktop. If there were additional coupons, this would be extremely hot.

I've been trying every way that I can, but I can't seem to find this 9100 with a 2405FPW for $1199 after rebate as stated in the original post. Where do I go to find this deal? I just spent $899 for a 2405FPW, and if I can get a more powerful system for just $300 more, I'll jump on that deal.

Just be sure to go on the small business site - look for the outrageous deals on the left of the screen. It's $1199 AFTER rebate, so you'll have to pay $1299 and get the $100 sent to you afterward.

After checking around and talking to a lot of people, I feel a lot better about this deal ... or at least my decision to get the monitor. It certainly has been getting rave reviews.

(of course, I'm sure tomorrow's new weekly specials will have the monitor on sale for $200 ... that's my usual luck)

I started with the Outrageous Deals link a few posts above. The only change I made to the 9100 was to add the 24" LCD, and I keep getting $1469 (before the $100 MIR). Any suggestions?

BTW, I'm not seeing any Outrageous Deals on the lefthand side of the page-for me they are full screen about 1/3 the way down, with the 9100 over near the right side.

Here's a direct link - don't know if it will work for you: http://www1.us.dell.com/content/product...rageous_desktops?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd

You need to click on the link to the outrageous deal featuring the 9100 with 24" LCD. If you pick another system and upgrade to a 24", it will cost a lot more.

Yep, if you select the $649 deal with the 19" LCD and upgrade it to 24", you'll end up with a $1469 price tag.

I don't see anything outrageously hot about this personally. So I get a POS dell pc that I could hardly get rid of for $300, and I'm stuck with the LCD for $900? I thought that's how much the 24" ones go for normally? I mean if it was a PC that's worth $600-700 I'd do it, as I'd take the 24" LCD for like $400-500 but other than that seems like nothing special to me...

Alright, let's go through it step by step:
A P4 3.0ghz LGA775 is $190
High quality easy-open case with high quality 24-pin PSU (never mind that the Dell is BTX, which is even niftier) is about $50-$75
LGA775 mobo - $75+
512mb DDR2 - $40
80gb SATA hard drive - $60
Radeon X300SE - $50
CD-ROM, Keyboard, Mouse - $30 for the lot

That's almost $500 worth of gear there. Should sell for $400+

Just type your name in as your company. Look ma, I'm self-employed ! That way you get the check in your name.

I've been wondering about that. I know a lot of people do it, but is there any legal inhibition to ordering something through the small business menus as opposed to home? It seems like the deals are vastly different sometimes.

I was on the phone with a Dell small business guy last night when I was going to jump on this deal. He was fully aware that I was just an individual and it was not a problem. I am guessing the differences are in the warranty and support options as well as the financing options available through the small business unit.

They have been alternating a basic 9100 with a choice of 19" or 24" LCD one week and a 20" widescreen LCD another week. There is a hope for you that it'll come back next week.

Wow. Glad I took advantage of this - price for the same system was about $450 more today, on both small business and home user.

I didn't have enough time to consider this deal when I found this thread. I bought a 2405FPW, and I'm in the 21 day period, so I considered sending the monitor back and getting the above mentioned deal. However, I wasn't sure just how much better this new system would be over what I currently have.
I have a Dimension 4550, P4, 2.8Ghz, 1 GB RAM, ATI X800XL, DVD ROM, CD/RW. It seems like I'd be giving up a lot, but the 9100 would let me expand to 4GB RAM.
Did I miss a good deal?

yes you missed a very good deal (so did i T_T), you could have put the x800xl in the 9100 if its pci-e. dunno what you would have done with the 512 ram in it, though.

Yes.

You snooze, you lose. Next time you seen an insanely hot deal like this, jump on it. You can always cancel before the PC ships.
