what the hell happened to just get up off your fat ass and run?

Actually cardio isn't what burns my fat off.

Lifting heavy burns fat the fastest for me.

Also dieting doesn't seem to really work for me unless I also train. I can cut cals, but the end result is I am not losing weight well and I start getting sick often.

Normally, I never get sick.

That's because you were unbecoming monster.
 
Input vs output
Just eat like a normal person ( 2000 Calories a day) and then throwing in a one hour of running every other day (Burn 700 calories ) you can easily lose 1-2 lbs a week that way.
 
I fast 1-3x a week depending on my waist size.
1x weekly to maintain weight
2x for losing weight slowly
3x to lose weight a bit quicker.
24 hours let's say from noon to noon. Bam done. It's awesome.
BUT the real benefits are some of the following which you can google for yourself as well.

1. Anti-cancer
2. Normalize blood levels/hormones
3. Anti-Diabeties because of normalizing
4. Anti-inflammatory.
5. Since cells are less inflamed, means you look younger longer.
etc... and more.

I hate to break it to you, but 1-5 are all wrong.
 
I've been doing Intermittent Fasting now for almost 3 weeks. It's the same thing Hugh Jackman did to prepare for his role in The Wolverine (although I found out after I started).

I actually have a thread about it in Health & Fitness in case any of you are curious about it. I'm going to be keeping a sort of weekly/biweekly journal about my experiences, etc.

I kind of like it, especially because I am going for more of a body recomp, rather than a pure cut. Reason being is that I am not really "fat" currently, My body fat is around 16% which puts me under the average male. Therefore, I would probably end up loosing a bunch of muscle if I were to do a true cut down to my goal of around 11-12%.

During this diet (and hopefully life style change) I am fasting for 16 hours and eating for 8. On days I do NOT work out, I try to fast for even longer, trying to get around 17-18 hours if I can. Additionally, on the days I do NOT work out, I eat less. On days I do work out, I eat more...Mostly in carbs to aid recovery.

As far as weight training goes, I continue to lift heavy. I am a firm believer in lifting heavy. Nothing tells your body more that "I need muscle" than heavy compound lifts. I don't know why people insist on upping their reps and lowering weight to lose weight. If anything, that will hurt you, not help.

During these (almost) three weeks, I've lost around 3lb but lost no strength what so ever. In fact, I'm gaining strength. I don't know if it's the supposed science of it at work, but I am lifting while fasted, and I feel better than ever. Apparently when you fast like this consistently, it ups your natural HGH levels and regulates your insulin response better. Overall, this would result in a stronger & leaner individual as compared to a person who was not fasting.

On the whole, I average about 2100-2300cal per day, something like 200-220g protein, 80-100g fat, and 100-150g carb. I don't do much cardio either, just a quick but intense 5-6 minutes of jump rope, burpees, plyo jumps, etc etc. Full body movements ... Not some BS elliptical.
