New Detonator 6.47 drivers

I downloaded them. Big time improvement in 3DMark score. The place I downloaded them from says that the Win2k drivers made substantial improvements in performance in 3DMark. As per Robotech's suggestion, I'm using the Evolva demo for D3D benchmarking in Win2k now. 😉

Seems same for me on UT. (Compared to 6.35)

I still can't play DirectX mode full screen. It refuses to go fullscreen on DirectX for some reason.

Tried "togglefullscreen" command. Still no go.

What's the KT133/AGP 4X problem? I just installed the MSI Kt7pro2 today... nothing too extreme.

do you suggest that only geforce users should use these new detonaters only? because I have a tnt2 non-ultra and really think that nvidia is targeting the geforce users only.

KT133 / AGP 4x causes texture blinking when AGP 4x mode is turned on. 6.47 doesn't solve the problem, however, it's looking a lot better than 6.2x or 6.3x.

Why would you want to do a thing like that😉

Run the Loki OpenGL patch and enjoy that second CD🙂

Most of the recent Detonator series seem to improve 3dMark2000 scores but what about STABILITY?
Has anyone noticed any "bugs", "glitches" or other problems in OTHER applications after installing the 6.47 drivers?

Thanks, Greg

OpenGL is too dark for me (even at the highest brightness).

Probably is my sucky SDR Geforce card 🙂

Unless that Loki patch does wonders...?

Bump your gamma up around .5 before you enter the game(in display properties), that will take care of the brightness issue.

"Unless that Loki patch does wonders...?"

It certainly does, but unfortunately not for brightness issues. It enables you to use the S3TC textures on the second UT CD which significantly improves the visual quality of the game. There are some screenshots up in both the articles linked above but even those don't do it justice. You have to play it to appreciate it.

Have you tryed to detect your 3d card again in UT? Helped me.. Also you could try to delete your UT.ini so UT will run the standard UT.ini. Or vorse.. reinstall.

These drivers so far seem to be stable. I haven't experienced any unusual behavior with them so far will update after i have had an opportunity to try some different games. One thing i did notice was that with the default AA setting I only had about a 300 point drop in 3d mark 2000 at 1024x768 16bit. Actually seems kinda useless as i can't really tell the difference when it is on or off at that res so i normally leave AAturned off but it seems that the AA is improved from a performance standpoint. Maybe someone that is more experienced with benchmarking could look into that to verify if that is truly the case or not.

Thats not a KT133/ AGP 4X problem your talking about, its related to your card. Because I have a KT133, a Annihilator Pro, and its running at 4X no problems.
